Day 1: Beijing-Datong by train No.K615(15:40-21:45)
Pick up from your hotel Beijing around 14:00 and transfer to Beijing West Railway Station.Take the daytime train No.615 leaving Beijing around 15:40 and arriving at Datong around 21:45. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Datong (B,L)
After breakfast at the hotel,you will visit the Yungang Grottoes,Hanging Temple and Sakyamuni Wooden Pagoda.After the tour,transferred to Datong Railway Station and take train No.2463 (23:17 - 06:25) for Pingyao.
- Yungang Grottoes: The three main sites in China that are famous for their stone sculpture are Dunhuang, Longmen and Yungang. Among these, the Yungang grottoes are considered first among equals, for their tremendous size, ancient history, and relatively complete state of preservation.
- Hanging Temple: It has a history of more than 1,400 years. About 40 buildings survived are scattered halfway up the mountain on the cliff face or slopes, from 26 to 50 meters above the foot of the mountain. The temple buildings which seem to be hanging in midair on the cliffs are unique in structure
- Sakyamuni Wooden Pagoda: It is the oldest and highest wooden structure in China with about 900 years of history and is regarded as the "First Pagoda in the World" and a gem in the architectural field.
Day 3: Datong-Pingyao by train No.K7807 (07:45-14:39) (B)
After breakfast, transferred to Datong Railway Station and take train No.K7807 (07:45 - 14:39) for Pingyao. Arriving at Pingyao, met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Pingyao. The rest of the day is free for your to relax.
Day 4: Pingyao-Xian by overnight train No.2669(23:14-07:46) (B,L,D)
After breakfast,you will visit the Ancient City Wall of Pingyao City, Rishengchang Exchange Shop,the Mingqing Street,Armed Escort Company Museum,County Government Office with lunch included.After dinner,transferred to Pingyao Train Station and take overnight train No.2669(23:14-07:46) for Xian. 4-bed cabin.
- The city of Pingyao: One of the four remaining well-preserved ancient cities in China. The city wall has a perimeter of 6.4 kilometers and is over 12 meters high and 3.5 meters wide.
- Rishengchang Exchange Shop: It is the earliest bank in China, first opened in the 18th century.Rishengchang was the first money exchange shop in the history of China.
- Ming and Qing Street: It is one of the busy and interesting streets in which to experience ancient Chinese culture. It is 440 long and used to be the commercial center of Pingyao ancient city.
- Armed Escort Company Museum: It offers an eye-opening armed escorts in protecting commerce.Cash moving from one area needed the armed escort firm to thwart of thieving hands.
- County Government Office: An ancient city hall and law court.
Day 5: Xian (L,D)
Arrived in Xian at 07:46, met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. After lunch,first visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum.Then move on to Big Goose Pagoda.Lastly come to downtown Xian to visit The Great Mosque.After the day tour,you will enjoy the dumpling dinner and Tang Dynasty Show.
- Shaanxi Procincial History Museum: Built in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty and exhibits more than 300,000 items including murals, paintings, pottery, coins, as well as bronze, gold and silver objects.
- Big Goose Pagoda: One of the famous Buddhist pagodas in China.It was built to store the scriptures and statues Xuan Zang had brought back from India.
- Great Mosque: the biggest and most preserved complete Chinese existent mosque.
- Tang Dynasty Show: It showcases the costumes, music, and dancing of China's golden age: the Tang dynasty (618-907).
Day 6: Xian Tour and Leave Xian (B,L)
After breakfast,drive to Terracotta Warriors. After lunch, drive back to city center of Xian to visit Xian City Wall.After the tour,you are transferred to Xian Railway Station, or Xian Airport.
- Terracotta Warriors: The Eighth Wonder of the World. More than 6,000 different looking pottery figures depict the history of the Qin Dynasty from 221 BC-206 BC.
- Xian City Wall: The best preserved, oldest and largest ancient city defense system in China.
